On 7 March 2025, the Central City Library of New Generation hosted a literary evening organised by the Foreign Department of the Volunteer Centre of Dagestan State Medical University. The event was aimed at developing students’ creative potential and expanding their horizons.

«Literature has always been an important means of communication and exchange of cultural values. Such evenings, where our students participate, provide a unique opportunity not only to hear poetry and prose in different languages, but also a deeper understanding of the traditions of other nations,» said Malika, head of the department, welcoming the guests.

Literary evenings become a platform for cultural exchange, creating an atmosphere of mutual understanding and respect for world diversity.

Participants read their favourite works in their native languages, allowing guests to hear the melody and unique characteristics of each language. Each performance was followed by a discussion to share impressions, ask questions and discuss the translations. This fostered a deeper understanding of the texts and their context. In addition, everyone was given the opportunity to recite a poem in any language, which many gladly took advantage of, much to the delight of the students.

«Events like this help break down stereotypes and prejudices. They create a space for open dialogue where everyone can express their point of view and share their experiences. This is especially important in today’s world,» shared one of the participants.

Literary evenings with students of different nations are not just a cultural event, but an important step towards creating a more friendly and tolerant society. They open doors to new acquaintances, enrich the inner world and help to understand each other better. Join such events to become part of this unique experience.
