A meeting with leading specialists of the Federal Scientific and Medical Research Centers was held at DSMU: «The path of a doctor is a vocation, responsibility and the art of life»

On November 1, in the assembly hall of the biological building of Dagestan State Medical University, students met with leading specialists from the National Medical Research Center for Radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation named after P.A. Herzen and the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov.

The event was held as part of the All-Russian project «Together against cancer. Kavkaz», implemented by the Association of Cancer Patients «Hello». The theme of the meeting — «The path of a doctor: vocation, responsibility and the art of life» — brought together future doctors and recognized professionals dedicated to serving people and medicine.

Magomed Khamidov, Vice-rector for Medical Work at DSMU, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing that the profession of a doctor requires not only knowledge and skills, but also an inner willingness to devote his life to helping people.

Among the guests of honor are Hasan Malikovich Osmanov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Health, Labor and Social Policy, as well as specialists from federal research centers. Nikolay Skachkov, Head of the Department of Operative Gynecology and Robotic Surgery, made a meaningful presentation. He spoke about modern technologies in surgery and the importance of a doctor’s professional responsibility.

Anna Petrozhitskaya and Oksana Kelekhsayeva, known as an All-Russian cancer blogger, also addressed the students, sharing their personal stories, experiences and motivating examples of the struggle for the lives of patients. At the end of the meeting, the guests and students discussed why it is so important to consciously choose the profession of a doctor, what it means to be a professional in the modern world and how to preserve humanity, compassion and loyalty to their work.
