A preventive lecture on eye health was held at the DSMU

On Monday, April 6, a significant event took place at the site of the Biological Building of Dagestan State Medical University. The volunteer center initiated a preventive lecture on the topic «Preservation of vision: prevention of ophthalmological diseases». This meeting brought together active students who are striving to improve their medical knowledge and learn how to competently take care of their health in conditions of high academic loads. The main expert was Aminat Kazieva Gadzhiyavovna— a lecturer at the DSMU Medical College in the discipline of «Nursing for therapeutic patients», a practicing ophthalmologist. Thanks to her rich practical experience, the lecturer clearly explained why this topic is so relevant today: modern students spend long hours on gadgets, being subjected to enormous stress. To prevent this influence from leading to serious problems, the speaker analyzed in detail the typical everyday mistakes that many people make habitually and imperceptibly. During the live dialogue, the volunteers actively joined in the discussion of practical issues, from hygiene rules and desktop organization to the importance of regular checkups. As a result, future medical professionals received valuable advice on how to engage in recognizing disturbing symptoms and effectively apply early diagnosis methods in their future practice. The event ended in a warm atmosphere, where students and volunteers were able to personally thank the guest for a meaningful conversation. The main purpose of the lecture — improving youth literacy in prevention issues — was fully achieved. The sincere emotions of the participants confirmed the importance of such initiatives of the Volunteer Center for the formation of a conscious approach to preserving the professional longevity of future doctors.
