On November 25, 2024, a scheduled meeting of the Academic Council was held in the administrative building of the Dagestan State Medical University, chaired by Rector Visampash Khanaliyev.

Before the discussion of the agenda began, V. Khanaliyev introduced the Chairman of the Dagestan Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization of Veterans (Pensioners) of War and Labor, the Armed Forces, and Law Enforcement Agencies, Magaram Alidzhanov, who presented the Chairman of the Primary Veterans Organization of the Dagestan State Medical University, Isa Javakhanov, with a diploma as the winner of the All-Russian Contest for the title of «Best Primary Veterans Organization for the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.»

Next, the Vice-Rector for Medical Affairs, Magomed Khamidov, presented letters of gratitude from State Duma Deputy Artem Bichayev to Rector V. Khanaliyev and Vice-Rector N. Mollaeva for organizing and conducting the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation «Innovative Technologies in Surgery,» dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of R. Askerkhanov, a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences.

During the meeting, key issues related to the development of the university were discussed.

The main topics of discussion were:

Consideration of competitive cases. Svetlana Mineeva, Secretary of the competition committee, provided information about candidates who are being elected to various positions at the university and nominated for academic degrees.

The second issue is the goals, objectives and mechanisms of youth policy implementation at DSMU. Vice-rector for Public Relations and Social and Educational Work Amurbek Kachabekov made a report on this important area. In his speech, he outlined strategic guidelines and practical steps to strengthen educational and social work with students.

Bilal Pirmagomedov, the head of the Career Center, presented a report on the center’s activities and future development. He reported on the progress made and outlined a vision for the center’s future development, focusing on effectively assisting graduates in finding employment and shaping their professional trajectories.

The meeting also included discussions on various topics.

The meeting allowed to determine further vectors of work on key aspects of the university’s life, paying special attention to the support of young people and the development of career opportunities for students and graduates of DSMU.

The work of the council was organized and conducted by the academic secretary, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Faculty of Pediatrics, Dentistry, and Medical and Preventive Sciences, Asiyat Esedova.
