A regular meeting of the Public Association of Students «Society of Young Surgeons of the Republic of Dagestan Hospital», dedicated to modern herniology, was held at DSMU

The regular XV meeting of the Public Association of Students «Society of Young Surgeons of the Republic of Dagestan», dedicated to modern herniology, was held on January 25th, 2023, in the building of the Dagestan State Medical University’s morphological department.

The meeting was attended by the following individuals: — Vice-Rector for Medical Affairs of the DSMU — Head of the Department of Surgery at ATF — Teaching Staff with an Endoscopic Surgery Course, Magomed Khamidov — Head of Department of General Surgery, Rasul Medzhidov — Chief Specialist-Expert on Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery for the Ministry of Health in the Republic of Moldova and North Caucasus Federal District, Zarema Kurbanova — Associate Professor of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy — Academic Supervisor of Operative and Topographic Surgery, Ilyas Kiblaev — Young Surgeons Working in Surgical Departments — Residents and Graduate Students of the Dagestan State Medical University.

The following reports were heard at the meeting: «Modern Herniology» – M.A.Khamidov; «Correct performance of Liechtenstein surgery for inguinal hernia» – Khadizhat Hasanova, 1st year resident of the Department of Surgery and Teaching Staff with a course of endoscopic surgery.

After the presentations, a discussion was held on modern and relevant methods of hernioplasty in the republic and statistics of successful results. 

A master class «Fixation of a mesh implant in inguinal hernia» was held by M.A. Khamidov, H.M. Hasanova, in addition, members of the Society had the opportunity to learn and perform «Independent performance of a continuous suture with the formation of Aberdeen and Raeder nodes».

Guests and members of the society were satisfied with the reports and experience in learning a new direction of surgery.
