A unified call center for COVID-19 issues has been re-launched on the basis of Dagestan State Medical University.

The unified call center for the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has started working again on the basis of  Dagestan State Medical University. The work was resumed on behalf of the Ministry of Health of Russia and the Head of   Dagestan, in connection with the spread of the strain «omicron» on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Recall that last week a video conference was held with the Ministry of Health of Russia  at which, in particular, the participation of medical students in the fight against the spread of a new coronavirus infection was discussed.

The same issue was discussed at a meeting of the operational headquarters under the leadership of the Head of  Dagestan  Sergey Melikov on Saturday, January 15. The acting rector of the DSMU, Visampasha Khanaliev, spoke about the university’s experience in deploying and organizing the work of a single call center, the participation of medical students in the fight against COVID-19. He also said that a personnel reserve of the teaching staff has been created at DSMU. More than 300 students and residents who have received special training are ready to work in the   «red zone». Senior students will be additionally trained from January 17. Also, 1.5 thousand volunteers are ready to join this work.

Within a day from the moment of the order, all the necessary equipment was installed, the work of the call center was adjusted and launched on Sunday, January 16. Calls from residents of Dagestan are already being processed by operators.

The call center operators are volunteers — senior students of Dagestan State Medical University. Acting Rector of DSMU V. Khanaliev appointed the head of the Department for work with students Imanali Mustafayev responsible for the work of the call center.
