‘Biblion Night-2025’ in DSMU

The Scientific and Medical Library of the Dagestan State Medical University hosted the annual All-Russian educational campaign Biblionight-2025. It is held for the 14th time and this year it is timed to coincide with the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The theme of this year’s event is ‘Their Heroes’, under the motto ‘There is no family in Russia where its hero is not remembered’.

The guests and students present honoured the memory of the fallen heroes, brave soldiers, true soldiers and patriots of their Motherland with a minute of silence.

  The event was attended by distinguished and honoured guests who had personally gone through the military trials and shared their memories of the military past.

Among them:

Abdulkhalik Magomedov — Chairman of the Union of Veterans of the Group of Soviet Troops in Germany in the Republic of Dagestan, People’s Hero of the Caucasus, who took part in the elimination of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, in the operation to eliminate gangs in Dagestan, as well as in the territory of the Chechen Republic. Colonel of the Guards as a member of the ‘Caspian’ battalion, he volunteered to go to the SSO zone despite his age-64 years. He was awarded many government, state and departmental medals;

Akhmed Mamaev — Chairman of the Makhachkala branch of the Union of Veterans of the Soviet Forces Group in Germany, participant of combat operations in three local wars, Guards Major;

Abdulla Fataliev — People’s hero of the Caucasus, veteran of combat operations in Afghanistan, Czechoslovakia, member of the People’s Militia, artist of the Republic of Dagestan, composer, head of the cultural and mass work sector of the Culture Centre of DSMU. The author’s song ‘Wait for me’ was performed by Abdulla Aliyevich.

The presentation ‘Fatherland is strong with heroes’ was shown, dedicated to hero fighters of Dagestan, who at the cost of their lives honourably defended and protect to this day the unity and integrity of the Russian Federation and have the title of ‘Hero of Russia’. The presentation was prepared by Burliyat Magomedova, an employee of the library’s Electronic Resources Department.

The report and presentation ‘To you colleagues who have passed the front! Dedicated to the Great Victory’ was delivered by Zaira Maksudova, Honoured Doctor of the Republic of Dagestan, Associate Professor of the Eye Diseases Department. Eimisey Huseynova, Head of the Department of Intellectual Property and Scientific and Medical Information, Honoured Worker of Education of the Republic of Dagestan, presented to the guests and students the presentation ‘Victory Day. Wartime Patents’ dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
