On 16 September, Rector of Dagestan State Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Visampasha Yusupovich Khanaliev and Vice-Rector for Public Relations and Social and Educational Work Renat Badrudinovich Kurbanismailov paid an official visit to the capital of Bashkortostan. The purpose of the visit was to familiarise themselves with the potential of Bashkir Medical University to strengthen and expand the partnership between the two universities.

The guests got acquainted with the clinical base: BSMU Clinic, scientific laboratories of the University. A visit to the All-Russian Eye and Plastic Surgery Centre is also planned during the working visit.

Visampasha Yusupovich became a participant of the Russian-Chinese scientific-practical conference ‘Actual issues of interaction between Russian and Chinese universities’, which BSMU organised together with Harbin Medical University. At the conference young scientists of BSMU, who are currently in China and receive PhD degree, told about their scientific developments.

On the first day of the visit an agreement was signed with BGMU and DSMU on co-operation in educational, research, medical and pharmaceutical activities. The documents were signed by: Rector of BSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Valentin Pavlov and Rector of DSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Visampasha Khanaliev.

The agreement provides for:

— Carrying out joint scientific research in priority areas;

— mutual exchange of information, scientific and educational materials;

— provision of access to databases and other sources of information;

— advisory and methodological support during the conduct of scientific research;

— development of joint scientific strategies, etc.

‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank honourable Valentin Nikolayevich and distinguished colleagues for such a warm welcome. I have not been to Ufa and Bashkortostan before. And today, what I have had the chance to see is very impressive. The most important thing I would like to note is that the people of Bashkiria and Dagestan are practically the same — hospitable. The heads of our republics pay a lot of attention to the development of healthcare in the region. Valentin Nikolayevich and I will make every effort to justify the trust of our Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Albertovich Murashko. In Bashkortostan this work is very well established, Valentin Nikolayevich does not stop at what he has achieved — he goes even further,’ commented Professor Visampasha Khanaliyev, Rector of the Dagestan State Medical University.
