30 April in the city of Andijan of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an international scientific-practical conference ‘Application of advanced innovative technologies in preventive medicine’ dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Andijan State Medical Institute.

The delegation from DSMU included Naida Mollaeva, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, Tagir Abakarov, Dean of the Faculty of Stomatology, and Raisat Kurbanova, Head of the International Department.

The guests of the international conference were solemnly welcomed to the sounds of national music, songs and dances. The event was opened by the rector of the institute Madamin Madazimov, who made a welcoming speech, telling about the history and present day of the institute. A video clip reflecting the past and present of the institute was shown.

In honour of this solemn event, congratulations were read out: on behalf of the regional khakim Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov, his deputy K. Komilov spoke, and the congratulations of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Asilbek Khudoyarov were read out by the head of the Department of Science, Education and Innovation of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan U. Ismailov. Then the rector of the Institute M. Madazimov was awarded with the badge ‘Guardian of Public Health’, according to the order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kungrotboi Sharipov also sent his congratulations to the participants of the conference in the online format. Deputy Director General of FGBU ‘Vishnevsky National Medical Centre of Surgery’ of the Ministry of Health of Russia Madina Kadyrova. Madina Kadyrova read out the welcome address on behalf of the Director of the Centre, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Amiran Revishvili and informed that by the decision of the Centre’s management Madamin Madazimov was awarded the ‘Vishnevsky Medal’ for high achievements in the field of surgery and medicine and presented it. In addition, congratulations were received both online and offline from domestic and foreign partners, as well as rectors of prestigious universities.

Naida Mollaeva, Vice-rector for scientific work, addressed the participants with words of greeting on behalf of the Rector of DSMU Visampasha Khanaliev. She congratulated the glorious staff of the Institute on the wonderful anniversary and noted that for DSMU Andijan State Medical University is a strategic partner, interaction and co-operation with which covers all spheres of activity. Then the Dean of the Faculty of Stomatology Tagir Abakarov read out the welcome address.

The plenary session of the international scientific-practical conference heard more than 10 reports by specialists from the Russian Federation, Sweden, Turkey, Germany, Australia, South Korea, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives of the medical sphere in Uzbekistan — both in online and offline formats.

In the plenary session, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Naida Mollaeva presented a report on ‘The impact of environmental factors on the mental health of the population’. After the plenary session, the work continued in six sections. In the section ‘Dentistry’, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Tagir Abakarov made a report on ‘Practical training of dentists using simulation technologies’.

More than 145 presentations were made on the topics of preventive medicine, internal medicine, maternal and child health, surgery, dentistry, and biomedical sciences.
