On September 23-24, Bishkek hosted the II Russian-Kyrgyz Educational Forum, which brought together about 70 universities from the two countries. The event took place at the venues of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. Yeltsin, the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I. Akhunbayev, the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K. Scriabin and the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov.

The Forum was held with the assistance of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic. This year’s theme was devoted to the contribution of Russian and Kyrgyz universities to the development of the economy and society, as well as practical cooperation with industrial partners within the framework of consortia of technical, medical and agricultural universities.

Dagestan State Medical University was represented by Rector Visampasha Yusupovich Khanaliev and Head of the International Department Raisat Gabibulayevna Kurbanova. During the plenary session at the I. Akhunbayev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, Visampasha Yusupovich greeted the host party, thanked the rector of KSMU, Indira Kudaibergenova, for the warm welcome and proposed to introduce dual degree programs between DSMU and Kyrgyz partners.

The key event of the day was the meeting of the Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium of Medical Universities, established in 2024. The participants summed up the results of their joint work and approved cooperation plans for 2025-2026.

Within the framework of the forum, Rector of DSMU Visampasha Khanaliev and Rector of the Central Asian International Medical University Asylbek Aidaraliev signed a draft agreement on mutual cooperation.

On the second day of the forum, a large educational exhibition was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after Boris Yeltsin, which was attended by DSMU. The university’s stand aroused great interest among schoolchildren and college students: the exhibition was attended by about 2,500 applicants from Bishkek and the Chui region, who got acquainted with admission opportunities, training areas and career prospects at 30 leading universities in Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

On September 24, a separate meeting was held between Visampashi Khanaliev, Rector of DSMU, and Sergey Volkov, Rector of KRSU, at which they discussed the prospects for further mutually beneficial cooperation.
