DSMU Participated in the All-Russian «Immortal Regiment» March

On May 9, Victory Day, the staff of Dagestan State Medical University joined the All-Russian patriotic march «Immortal Regiment» held in Makhachkala.

University faculty, staff, and students participated in the march, carrying portraits of their loved ones—WWII veterans, home front workers, military doctors, nurses, and all those who made an invaluable contribution to the Great Victory. DSMU’s column was led by University Rector Visampasha Khanaliev.

For the university staff, participation in the march was a tribute of deep respect to the courage, fortitude, and dedication of the victorious generation. The memory of war heroes, their heroism, and selfless service to the Motherland unites generations and serves as a vital moral support for young people.

This day has special significance for the medical university. During the Great Patriotic War, doctors, paramedics, nurses, and orderlies risked their own lives to save the wounded at the front and in hospitals, demonstrating high professionalism, compassion, and devotion to duty. Their heroic deeds will forever remain an example of true service to people and the Fatherland.

The «Immortal Regiment» march united over 30,000 people in their quest to preserve historical memory, convey the truth about the Great Victory to future generations, and express gratitude to those who defended the freedom and independence of our country.

Dagestan State Medical University traditionally participates in commemorative events dedicated to Victory Day, contributing to the preservation of historical memory, the patriotic education of youth, and the strengthening of intergenerational continuity.
