April 17, 2026 in the educational building of digital and information technologies named after A.S. Vishnyakov (building No. 9) of the Russian State University named after G.V. Plekhanov hosted the fifth forum and ceremony of presenting the KOLBA Prize — the only prize in Russia dedicated to women scientists.

Madina Magomedova, Associate Professor of the Department of General and Biological Chemistry of Dagestan State Medical University, became the winner of the award in the «Medicine» nomination. Each laureate received a valuable prize — a distinctive sign «Kolba» (inlaid with a precious stone), the publication of a personal interview with one of the project’s information partners (Perspektiva magazine, Education Bulletin, Machines and Mechanisms, Desinger from Russia), an individual mentoring session from experts and trustees of the award, the Kolba almanac in Russian and English.

Kolba is the only national award in Russia for women scientists and specialists from various professional fields of activity. The award was established to popularize the image of women researchers, highlight significant achievements in the field of science and technology, as well as create a community and space for interaction between business and science. The KOLBA Prize is included in the list of key activities of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia in accordance with the plan for the Decade, approved by order of the Government of the Russian Federation of July 25, 2022 No. 2036-r. The project is being implemented with the support of the Foundation for Professional Initiatives «Women of the Nuclear Industry» of the international movement WiN Global and the head of the national branch of WiN Russia Evgenia Enshina, the founder of the forum and the Kolb Prize for women in science and technology.

KOLBA has been forming the image of a modern woman scientist for more than 5 years, strengthening their significance in the media agenda and contributing to professional development. During the existence of the project, more than 300 interviews with participants were published, and in 2026 the award set a record for the number of nominations — more than 30. And she conducted her research with the analytical agency Magram, compiling a portrait of the award nominee and identifying patterns in the female agenda.
