On Tuesday, September 21, the head of the Security Department Sirazhutdin Kimpaev held a meeting with employees of the security Department. The meeting was held with the participation  of  Police District Commissioner on  Sovetsky district of   Internal Affairs Ministry  of the Russian Federation in Makhachkala Guseyn Dzhabrailov and the inspector of  Juvenile Affairs Department  on  Sovetsky district of Internal Affairs Department  of the Russian Federation in Makhachkala Shamil Imanshapiev.

Before the meeting, the head of the department announced a minute of silence in memory of those who died during the emergency at the Perm State National Research University.

Then Sirazhutdin Gimayev noted that despite the fact that the necessary work is carried out constantly, the situation that has occurred shows the need to take more enhanced measures to ensure the safety of students and employees. «We need to comprehensively increase the level of protection through joint preventive measures,» the head of the security department stressed.

 Dagestan State Medical University conducted additional checks of alarm buttons and video surveillance systems at the entrances. The access regime has been strengthened. Control over the order of passage of persons, the passage of vehicles, the entry and removal of property and material values also has been strengthened, just as well the posts in all dormitories at the university have also been strengthened.

An additional briefing with the employees of the security department was conducted by the district commissioner of the police department and the inspector for minors of the police department. They asked all employees and students to pay attention to suspicious people and objects.

In addition, it was noted that the educational unit needs to conduct additional briefings with students and staff aimed at increasing vigilance.

On the morning of September 20, an 18-year-old student of the law Faculty of the Perm State National Research University, Timur Bekmansurov, committed a mass murder at the university. He shot six people, 28 more were injured and various injuries. He was injured during the arrest, and  in the hospital now. A day of mourning for the victims was declared in the Perm Region on Tuesday, September 21.
