On Thursday, March 26, 2026, the Foreign Department of the Volunteer Center of the Dagestan State Medical University organized a cultural meeting titled «Family Values in the Traditions of Different Nations.» This event was a significant contribution to the development of youth policy and the strengthening of ties between students of different nationalities. The choice of the topic was based on its importance and relevance: in future medical practice, understanding the patient’s lifestyle and traditions is crucial for successful communication and trust. In the main part of the meeting, the volunteers presented reports on the unique customs of the countries of the Middle East, Asia, Africa and, of course, the Caucasus. Special attention was paid to the connection of generations and the role of elders in the preservation of folk culture. The activists of the Volunteer Center not only listed the facts, but also involved the audience in thinking about how age-old traditions adapt to the conditions of the modern world. The interactive format allowed each of those present to talk about the most important things — about their roots and the life lessons they had learned in their parents’ home. Thanks to the well-coordinated efforts of the organizers, the meeting turned into a warm and friendly dialogue, free from unnecessary formalities. At the end of the evening, the curators thanked everyone for their sincere interest and involvement. The main goal of the event, which was to promote intercultural dialogue and foster an atmosphere of mutual respect, was successfully achieved. The students noted that such initiatives help them to better understand their colleagues and effectively overcome any stereotypes. This meeting not only broadened the participants’ horizons but also helped each student to feel a part of a larger community that values its roots and takes pride in its cultural diversity.
