IV Open Olympiad on Normal Physiology of the Nizhnevolzhsky Cluster

The team of students of DSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia took part in the IV Open Olympiad on Normal Physiology of the Nizhnevolzhsky cluster, which was held in the city of Orenburg on the basis of the Department of Normal Physiology of OrSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia with the participation on an initiative basis of employees of departments of other universities. The event was opened by Rector of OrSMU Igor Miroshnichenko — Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Normal Physiology. Then the welcoming speech was made by the heads of departments of LSMU named after St. Luke — Tatiana Tananakina, DSMU — Razin Ragimov, VSMU — Vladimir Dorokhov. The team of students of DGMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia took part in the IV Open Olympiad on Normal Physiology of the Lower Volga cluster, which was held in the city of Orenburg on the basis of the Department of Normal Physiology of OrSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia with the participation of the staff of departments of other universities on an initiative basis. The event was opened by Rector of OrSMU Igor Miroshnichenko — Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Normal Physiology. Then the welcoming speech was made by the heads of departments of LSMU named after St. Luke — Tatiana Tananakina, DSMU — Razin Ragimov, VSMU — Vladimir Dorokhov.

The tasks for the Olympiad were compiled by the teachers of the participating departments on the basis of the main educational programmes. The Olympiad was held in several days and consisted of six stages. The tasks of each stage allowed students to test their theoretical knowledge, demonstrate mastering of practical skills and solve situational practice-oriented problem. The greatest interest was a competition of team captains in the form of the game ‘Physiological crocodile’. The team of students of DSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia took part in the IV Open Olympiad on Normal Physiology of the Lower Volga Cluster, which was held in the city of Orenburg on the basis of the Department of Normal Physiology of OrGMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia with the participation on an initiative basis of employees of departments of other universities. The team of DSMU ‘PRIMUS’ (third year students of the medical faculty — Yaraliev Nurutdin, Magomedov Abdulla, second year students — Alibekov Amir, Gadzhiev Rustambag) showed good knowledge and skills, was awarded diplomas at different stages of the Olympiad. Razin Rahimov, Head of the Department of Normal Physiology of DSMU accompanied the team. Razin Ragimov and associate professors of the Department of Normal Physiology Raziyat Bilalova and Naida Abdullaeva took part in preparation of the team for the Olympiad.

As for the stage ‘Testing’, which included 100 questions, Amir Alibekov took the 1st place; for practical skills ‘Measurement of BP’ the 2nd place was taken by Gadzhiev Rustambagh and ‘Registration and analysis of ECG’ the 3rd place was taken by Yaraliev Nurutdin, besides for the stage ‘Fun physiological starts’ the 2nd place was taken by the team ‘Primus’ of DSMU.

On the final day of the Olympiad the initiative group of volunteers organised a farewell to winter and a welcome to spring.

For contribution to formation of intellectual fund of the country, for professional competence, which contributed to achievement of high results of DSMU students, the rector of the University V.Y. Khanaliev and the head of the department R.M. Ragimov were marked with letters of gratitude by the administration of Orenburg State Medical University.
