A literary and musical evening ‘Woman’s Path to Science’ dedicated to the International Women’s Day was held in the reading room of the scientific library in March. Head of Scientific Literature Department Emerald Aliyeva opened the event. The event was conducted by 1st year students of the Faculty of Medicine Maisarat Kaitmazova and Sapijat Ramazanova.

Amurbek Kachabekov, Acting Vice-Rector for Public Relations and Social and Educational Work, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech on behalf of the Rector of DSMU Visampasha Khanaliev: «I heartily congratulate you on the upcoming Women’s Day! The first spring month is traditionally associated with International Women’s Day, which has been celebrated in Russia for more than a century. All the best and good things are connected with women, we men cannot imagine our life without you, without your love and care, without your attention, as well as the life of society without your active work. The sphere of education is based on the knowledge and skills of women. The labour of doctors is invaluable, especially if it lies on fragile female shoulders. The 8th of March is a great occasion to wish you happiness, joy and fulfilment of all your wishes».

The event was attended by guests — teachers of DSMU who have devoted themselves to medicine: Tamara Tsarueva — Associate Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, Honoured Doctor of the Republic of Tajikistan, doctor of the highest qualification category, veteran of labour, freelance consultant of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tajikistan; Raziyat Bilalova — Associate Professor of the Department of Normal Physiology, Honoured Worker of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan, veteran of labour; Salidat Omarova — Professor, Head of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of DSMU, ‘Excellent Healthcare Worker of the Russian Federation’, ‘Veteran of Labour’, is a member of the All-Russian Society of Biotechnologists of Russia named after Y.A. Ovchinnin. Y.A. Ovchinnikov.

All invited guests congratulated those present on the coming holiday, shared their memories of student years, told about their mentors, who influenced the choice of the main directions in scientific research.

  Students-activists of the united trade union committee of DSMU, under the guidance of Kamila Gadzhieva, the head of the cultural and mass department of the creative association ‘Zvezda’, prepared an informative musical and poetic programme dedicated to women. Students Nadiya Hajiyeva, Patimat Abakarova, Nadiya Akhmedova, Saygidin Gazaliyev, Mamedbegova Diana took part in it. Nadiya Akhmedova performed a musical composition dedicated to her mother. At the end of the programme, student Saygidin Gazaliyev congratulated all women on the coming holiday.

The event was organised and conducted by the staff of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology: Aminat Aliyeva — associate professor, professor; Patimat Saidova — senior teacher; Malkura Yusupova — assistant of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, Saidat Akayeva — assistant of the Department of Histology.

The video-presentation devoted to women doctors, professors of our university ‘Woman’s Way to Science’, prepared by the head of the sector of electronic resources department Magomedova B.S.

The event was accompanied by the book exhibition ‘Woman-joy, woman-light’, organised by the library staff. The exhibition presented books about women of Dagestan, scientific works and monographs of female employees of our university. And also books from the series ‘Great Artists’ with reproductions of paintings by famous artists, whose canvases are dedicated to women.
