Medical students of the DSMU have worked on anti-epidemic measures at the airport

During the internship, senior students of the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention of Dagestan State Medical University participated in the development of primary anti-epidemic measures for passengers arriving on an international flight and suspected of infectious diseases.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors, future doctors have studied and put into practice algorithms of actions in identifying potentially dangerous cases. During the exercises, more than 5,000 passengers were examined, most of them pilgrims returning from performing the Hajj. 10 people have symptoms that require additional monitoring. Measures were taken in respect of them, taking into account the requirements stipulated by the regulatory documents on sanitary protection of the territory of the Russian Federation.

«Such practices are extremely important for the training of future specialists in the field of epidemiology and preventive medicine. The students gained valuable work experience in real conditions, which will allow them to act more confidently in their professional activities,» said Visampasha Khanaliev, Rector of DSMU. Such exercises not only increase the level of training of students, but also strengthen the sanitary and epidemiological safety of the region.
