Memories of Generations

A large-scale event dedicated to Victory Day was held on Lenin Square in Makhachkala. It was attended by representatives of all the city’s universities, each of which organised its own themed area.

The interactive installation prepared by activists of the Volunteer Centre of the Dagestan State Medical University aroused special interest. Among the spectators were deans, rectors of universities and the mayor of the city.

The goals of the event were not only to celebrate Victory Day, but also to create an atmosphere that would allow the younger generation to reflect more deeply on the significance of this historic event, honour the memory of heroes and understand the importance of preserving peace. The organisers sought to highlight the value of the Soviet people’s feat and their contribution to the history of the country and the world.

Activists of the Volunteer Centre approached the task responsibly and creatively. They recreated a war scene where participants could practise first aid skills in extreme conditions. Volunteers prepared a set of tools and materials used by medics, including surgeons, during the war.

This platform attracted the attention not only of students, but also of university management and the mayor. He highly appreciated the work of DSMU volunteers, noting their professionalism and unconventional approach.

At other locations the guests were welcomed with creative performances, historical reconstructions, exhibitions and other activities that allowed them to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of wartime and post-war reconstruction of the country.

The event on Lenin Square became a significant event for the city. It not only gave the participants vivid impressions, but also contributed to the patriotic education of young people.
