In connection with the events in Derbent and Makhachkala that took place in the evening of 23 June in Dagestan, the National Anti-Terrorist Committee has introduced a counter-terrorist operation regime.

Today, terrorism has once again shown its inhuman cruelty and unscrupulousness in its attempts to shake up the situation in Dagestan and disrupt inter-confessional and inter-ethnic peace. Russia’s enemies will never be able to do this, they will receive the most brutal response. This has been the case in the past and will continue to be the case in the future.

The situation is under the control of the republic’s leadership and law enforcement agencies.

I express my sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims, and I wish the wounded a speedy recovery.

In the near future, various kinds of inaccurate information may appear on the Internet, messengers and social networks in order to mislead the audience, sow panic or contradictions.

Please do not give in to provocations and trust only official reports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan, the Federal Security Service of Russia and the Head of the Republic of Dagestan.
