«Second Life: When Courage Becomes Salvation»

On Monday, May 4, the educational seminar «Second Life» was held in the academic building of the Dagestan State Medical University, organized by the Volunteer Center.

The topic was chosen due to the urgent need to expand the donor registry, as for many patients, transplantation remains the only chance for survival. Invited speakers added particular depth to the discussion. Ramis Agatayev, a member of the SMO and a donor, shared his personal experiences, emphasizing that the willingness to help others stems from a deep sense of civic duty and true humanity.

Shamil Suleimanov joined the discussion. As a bone marrow donor, he spoke about his journey and the importance of not standing by when someone’s fate depends on your decision. The third key participant was Raziyat Khidrieva, a recipient whose story of battling a serious illness and finding a «second life» after surgery became a powerful testimony to the value of human solidarity.
