«Seconds That Save Lives: Excellence in the Name of Humanity»

An important educational seminar entitled «The Rescue Algorithm: Putting Complex Things Simply» was held at one of the academic buildings of the DSMU. The event was organized by the Volunteer Center. The meeting brought together future medical professionals striving for professional excellence with the support of the volunteer movement.

Eldar Minkailov, Professor of the Department of Cardiology, Emergency Care, and General Medical Practice at the Faculty of Advanced Training and Professional Development, served as the expert. The main part of the program was devoted to a detailed analysis of critical situations requiring immediate intervention. The topic of first aid algorithms was chosen deliberately: in emergency situations, it is the clarity of actions that determines the patient’s outcome. The speaker elaborated on the key stages of resuscitation, reinforcing the theory with examples from his own medical practice.

Under the guidance of an experienced physician, the students analyzed real clinical cases, which allowed them to understand the level of personal responsibility. Particular attention was paid to psychological resilience—the ability to maintain composure under stress. Volunteers assisted with the practical portion, demonstrating the coordinated teamwork necessary when providing assistance to victims. Each movement and manipulation was discussed until the participants developed a clear understanding of the structure of the actions. The seminar concluded with a lively discussion and exchange of opinions.

The students expressed their sincere gratitude to Eldar Kuramagomedovich for the accessible presentation and also thanked the DSMU Volunteer Center for creating the conditions for high-quality learning.
