In February, a subject week on mathematics was held at the Medical College of the Dagestan State Medical University of the Russian Ministry of Health. The series of events was aimed at increasing students’ interest in the subject, developing their creative abilities, and deepening interdisciplinary connections. The week was organized and inspired by the teacher, Gadzhikatun Magomedova. As part of the opening of the week, an exhibition of student-made newspaper articles was organized, as well as an exhibition of «Regular Polyhedra» made using mathematical origami techniques. The second day was dedicated to creative competitions. First-year students of the 8th stream, Khalilova A. and Bedirkhanova M., took part in the «Mathematical Ditties» competition, demonstrating their artistic skills and knowledge of the subject. Then, a «Mathematical Quiz» was held, where students competed in solving non-standard problems. The team «Integrals» (8th stream, supervised by Makayeva A.M.) won the competition, scoring the highest number of points. Open lessons were a significant event of the week. Teacher Shakhayeva Z.M. conducted a lesson on the topic «Polygons,» examining geometric shapes using the architecture of the Egyptian pyramids as an example. Teacher Kurbanova A.M. organized an integrated lesson on «Literature and Mathematics,» demonstrating the interaction between the humanities and the sciences.

On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, teachers Magomedova G.A. and Makayeva A.M. organized an integrated event «History and Mathematics: The Great Patriotic War in Numbers». Students performed calculations related to historical events (the mass of blockade bread, the characteristics of military equipment), and presented themed skits. Special attention was paid to patriotic education: the students were addressed by combat veterans — Colonel of the Guards, holder of the Order of the Red Star N.A. Akaev and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the «Combat Brotherhood», Honored Mentor of the RD Imanmirzaev I.Kh. The guests shared their memories and gave their best wishes to future medical students. The subject week ended with a solemn summation. The most active participants were awarded certificates and diplomas. The college administration expresses its gratitude to the teachers Magomedova G.A., Shakhaeva Z.M., Kurbanova A.M., and Makayeva A.I. for their high level of organization of events and contribution to the development of educational work. The subject week contributed to the formation of students’ skills of collective work, the development of cognitive activity, and the strengthening of the spirit of cooperation in the college’s educational environment.
