The conference «Current Issues in Diabetology» was held at DSMU

November 14 is World Diabetes Day and Endocrinologist Day at the same time. On this day, endocrinologists of the Republic of Dagestan gathered in the conference hall of the Scientific and Educational Innovation Center of the Dagestan State Medical University for the scientific and practical conference «Actual Issues of Diabetology».

 Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Naida Mollaeva, delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the Rector, Visampasha Khanaliyev. She congratulated everyone on Endocrinologist’s Day and noted that diabetes mellitus is a medical and social condition that has challenged global healthcare due to the epidemic increase in diabetes prevalence, the risk of disability, and the premature mortality of patients. «Today, a comprehensive approach is needed in diabetes management, as it lies at the intersection of various specialties and is interdisciplinary in nature,» said N. Mollaeva.

 The participants were also welcomed by Nabi Kuraev, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Dagestan.

At the conference, Tatiana Markova, Professor of the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetology at the Russian University of Medicine, Head of the Department of Endocrinology at City Clinical Hospital No. 52 in Moscow, delivered a lecture program.

 During the conference, the Head of the Department of Endocrinology at DGMU and other department staff members, Ekaterina Azizova, Chief Freelance Endocrinologist, and staff members of the Republican Endocrinology Center also presented their reports.
