On November 21, 2025, the Department of Philosophy and Humanities at the DSMU, together with the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases at the DSMU, became the venue for an important event: the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation «Medical Ethics and Deontology. Psychology of Professional Communication.» This topic is not only about science, but also about human lives: what kind of person a modern doctor is, how they communicate and make decisions in difficult situations.

On behalf of the University Rector, V.Yu. Khanaliyev, the Vice-Rector for Research, Naida Mollaeva, addressed the participants and guests of the conference, noting that such meetings provide an opportunity to discuss the educational and personal aspects of training future doctors.

Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Dagestan, Patkhula Patkhulaev, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of addressing professional ethics issues in the context of modern healthcare challenges.

The conference was opened by Telman Kafarov, Head of the Department of Philosophy and Humanities, who outlined the key areas of discussion and emphasized the relevance of the interaction between philosophy and medicine.

The conference program included presentations on the issues of morality, legal support for medical activities, professional communication, and the specifics of doctor-patient interaction.

The presentations were interconnected and created a comprehensive mosaic of issues important for the medical community.

After the presentations, lively discussions began. Participants, from experienced professors to young researchers, shared their thoughts, asked questions, and offered practical solutions. It was not a dry lecture; instead, everyone sought to find a balanced approach to ethics, the role of a doctor, and how to communicate with patients in a respectful, safe, and effective manner.

The guests noted that the conference provided a powerful impetus for further development, as the topics discussed today have the potential to significantly impact the training of doctors at DSMU and beyond. The participants expressed confidence that such discussions help to create a more humane, morally stable medical environment.

The conference was a reminder that medicine is not only about knowledge and technology, but above all about people. A doctor is not only a specialist, but also a person, a bearer of moral values, and his interaction with the patient is the foundation of trust.

The Department of Philosophy and Humanities of DSMU acted as a point where science and the human dimension of medicine met in dialogue. This event is part of the university’s extensive efforts to foster not only professional skills but also the moral character of future doctors.
