The intra-university scientific and practical conference with international participation «Problems and prospects of emergency surgery», dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Department of Surgery of the Faculty of Surgery and Teaching Staff with a course in endosurgery, was held on September 19 at the Scientific and Educational Innovation Center of DSMU.

Vice Rector for Medical Work Magomed Khamidov addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech on behalf of the Rector of DSMU Visampashi Khanaliev: «40 years of one of the leading departments of our university is quite a long time. It is a great honor for us that the founder of the department was the Patriarch of Medicine, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Rashid Pashaevich Askerkhanov. Surgeons from all over the country came to improve their skills with an outstanding surgeon.»

He spoke about all those who continued the traditions of the School of Endoscopic Surgery and headed the Department of Endoscopic Surgery at the university. Today, the department trains specialists who are not afraid of difficult tasks and know that the future belongs to technology, but mastery remains eternal. The staff of the department participates in consultations on a daily basis, reviews medical records, and actively participates in the treatment process.

Khamidov expressed gratitude to all the surgeons who came to the conference and wished them fruitful work and more inspiration for their work after this meeting.

Magomed Khamidov introduced the Chief Surgeon of the North Caucasus Federal District, Head of the Department of Surgical Diseases No. 2 of the SOGMA of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (Vladikavkaz) to the audience Valeria Totikova. In his greeting, the guest emphasized the high level of training of surgical specialists in Dagestan. The proof of this is the large number of graduates of Dagestan university who head surgery departments in the North Caucasus and beyond.

Then there was an online greeting by the Head of the Department of Surgical Diseases and Clinical Angiology of the Russian University of Medicine of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Magomedbeg Dibirov and the Head of the Department of Emergency and General Surgery named after Professor A.S.Ermolov, Dean of the Surgical Faculty of the Russian Medical Academy of Continuing Professional Education of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Dmitry Blagovestny. They congratulated the department and its staff on the anniversary, noted the high professionalism of doctors, endoscopists.

«Surgery in Dagestan has been and remains one of the most outstanding schools in the country,» both speeches noted.

Hamid Askerkhanov, Head of the Department of Hospital Surgery; Rasul Medjidov, Head of the Department of General Surgery; Abdurakhman Osmanov, Professor of the Department of Surgery of the Faculty of Surgery and Teaching Staff with a course in Endoscopic Surgery; Zarema Kurbanova, Chief Plastic Surgeon of the Republic of Dagestan, Professor of the Department of Faculty Surgery of the Moscow State Medical University, addressed the conference participants with greetings and wishes for fruitful work.

Diplomas expressing gratitude for high achievements were awarded to Anzirat Murtuzalieva, head of the surgery unit of GBU RB RCB No. 2, and Saadat Magomedovna, a surgeon at RCBSMP.

The plenary part of the conference began with the report «The history of the development of the Department of Surgery of FPC and teaching staff with a course in endoscopic surgery», which was read by Magomed Abdulzhalilov, Head of the Department of FPC and Teaching Staff with a course in endoscopic surgery at DSMU.

Zaurbek Totikov spoke about the issues of choosing decompressive stomas and the place of their formation in patients with colon cancer complicated by acute obstruction.

«Endoscopic diagnosis of chemical burns of the esophagus using endosonography» was the title of the report, which was read by Alana Kachmazova, an endoscopist at the Department of Endoscopy and Intraluminal Surgery at the N.V.Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Joint Venture (Moscow).

Magomed Magomedov– an assistant at the Department of FPC and Teaching Staff with a course in endoscopic surgery at DSMU, spoke about the results of endoscopic treatment of cicatricial stenoses of the esophagus and anastomoses.

Habib Isaev, Associate Professor of the Department of FPC and Teaching Staff with a course in endoscopic surgery, made a presentation on «Causes of inguinal hernia and its recurrence.»

Anzirat Murtuzalieva read out the report «Differentiated tactics in case of suture failure after longitudinal gastric resection.»

After a short coffee break, the conference continued its work, where reports on interesting topics were presented.

The conference was held in a fruitful and successful business environment; at its conclusion, a collection of papers will be published.
