On November 28, 2025, the Dagestan State Medical University hosted the III International Scientific and Practical Conference on Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, «Maksudov Readings». This year, the event was dedicated to the significant milestone of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Dentistry at the DSMU.

 The conference brought together approximately 300 participants, including leading scientists, practitioners, and experts in the fields of dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery from various regions of Russia, as well as from Uzbekistan and Belarus.

The conference was opened by the Rector of DSMU, Professor Visampasha Khanaliyev, who addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He emphasized the importance of the event in the context of the development of dental science and practice, and highlighted the contribution of the DSMU Faculty of Dentistry in training highly qualified specialists.

The conference program included plenary sessions, sectional presentations, workshops, and discussions covering a wide range of topics related to innovative technologies in dental practice, modern methods of diagnosing and treating dental diseases, therapeutic and surgical dentistry, orthopedic dentistry and orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, implantology, and reconstructive surgery.

As part of the event’s gala, the employees of the Dagestan State Medical University and the honored guests were awarded for their achievements in the field of healthcare, their contribution to the development of medical education, and the training of dental professionals. The honorary title of «Honorary Professor of the Dagestan State Medical University» was awarded to Dr. Mustafaev Magomet Shabazovich, Professor and Director of the Institute of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.

The conference was also attended by greetings from Nabi Shamilievich Kuraev, First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Dagestan; Rinat Akhmedullovich Saleev, President of the Russian Dental Association; Mukhamadyakhye Gulomakadirovich Teshaboyev, Head of the Department of Surgical Dentistry at Andijan State Medical Institute; Zumrud Kamilovna Buchaeva, Chairman of the Dagestan Republican Organization of the Trade Union of Health Workers of the Russian Federation; and other distinguished guests. The Rector of the Russian University of Medicine of the Russian Ministry of Health, Chief Freelance Dentist of the Russian Ministry of Health, Academician O.O. Yanushevich, addressed the conference participants with a video greeting.

 The III International Scientific and Practical Conference «Maksudov Readings» was an important event in the dental community. The conference allowed participants to share their experiences, discuss current issues and development prospects in the industry, and identify new approaches and solutions aimed at improving the quality of dental care for the population.
