The DSMU Volunteer Center held a first aid workshop at DSTU

On March 23, a large-scale first aid workshop was held at the Dagestan State Technical University. The event was organized by the volunteers of the DSMU Volunteer Center. The meeting brought together students from various faculties who were eager to acquire vital knowledge and experienced mentors from among future medical professionals. The event began with a detailed instruction on how to behave in critical situations. This topic was chosen as a priority because timely first aid is often the decisive factor in saving a victim’s life. The volunteers provided detailed explanations of the algorithms for recognizing loss of consciousness and methods for stopping massive bleeding, accompanied by visual examples. The key stage was the practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation on specialized simulators. The volunteers closely monitored the compression technique, helping the participants correct common mistakes. Thanks to the involvement of representatives from the DGMU Volunteer Center, the participants were able to practice their skills to the point of automatism, gradually overcoming the psychological barrier of taking responsibility for human health. The meeting resulted in the formation of a serious and conscious attitude towards the value of human life, as well as a strong motivation for further in-depth study of the topic of first aid. The workshop ended on a positive note, leaving everyone present with a sense of self-confidence and readiness to help in need.
