From April 16 to April 19, 2026, the final of the VI All-Russian Student Olympiad with international participation in normal physiology was held on the basis of the Biological Corps and the Scientific and Educational Innovation Center of Dagestan State Medical University. The key scientific and educational event was timed to coincide with significant dates: the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, Cosmonautics Day and the 65th anniversary of the world’s first human space flight, completed by Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin. It is gratifying to note that this Olympiad has been included in the plan of significant educational and educational activities of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for the 5th year in a row.

The event was opened on behalf of the rector Visampashi Khanaliev by the vice-rector for academic affairs Elmira Akhmedova. Greetings to the participants were addressed by: Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation T.V. Semenova; Honorary Professor of FSAEI HE RNIMU named after N.I. Pirogov of the Ministry of Health of Russia V.M. Smirnov; Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy in the Field of Scientific and Technological Development of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation A.G. Asadov; Rector of the Orenburg State Medical University, Head of the Department of Normal Physiology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor I.V. Miroshnichenko; Head of the Department of Normal Physiology, FSAEI HE I.M. Sechenov Moscow State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Doctor of Medical Sciences A.E. Umryukhin; Head of the Department of Normal Physiology, Grodno State Medical University (Republic of Belarus), Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor V.V. Zinchuk. To conduct the main part of the Olympics — assessing the fulfillment of the competitive tasks of the teams, Professor R.M. Ragimov. The authoritative jury included leading heads of departments of normal physiology and experienced associate professors of departments from Sechenov University, St. Petersburg, Ural, state medical universities, as well as representatives, heads of departments of RUDN University, Kazan and North-Eastern federal universities, Tula and Ingush state universities, colleagues from Grodno State Medical University (Republic of Belarus), Tashkent GMU (Republic of Uzbekistan), Volga IMU and other universities. The honor to represent their universities in the final of the Olympics was entrusted to the 15 strongest student teams from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
