On November 20, 2025, the IIth anniversary International Scientific and Practical Conference «Medical Tourism: Challenges and Prospects» was held in Volgograd (in a hybrid format, both in person and online). The event was attended by leading scientists, practicing specialists, and representatives of government agencies in the fields of healthcare, tourism, and rehabilitation technologies from various regions of Russia and foreign countries, including Uzbekistan.

Naida Abdullaeva, Director of the Research and Educational Center at Dagestan State Medical University and Associate Professor, presented a report on the topic: «The Rehabilitation Potential of Dagestan: Health Resort Technologies as a Resource for National Health.» Professor Razin Ragimov, Head of the Department of Normal Physiology at Dagestan State Medical University, co-authored and co-presented the report.

The report paid special attention to the implementation of the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 309 dated May 7, 2024, «On the National Development Goals of the Russian Federation for the Period up to 2030 and for the Period up to 2036,» which emphasizes that «the health of the nation is the foundation of national security.»

Following the conference, the participants and organizers expressed their interest in expanding scientific and practical cooperation with DSMU, including through joint research, educational programs, and technology transfer in the field of medical and health tourism.
