The VI Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference «Topical Issues of trauma surgery and Diseases of the musculoskeletal system», dedicated to the 100th anniversary of RAS Academician G. A. Ilizarov, began its work in the Scientific and Educational Innovation Center of DSMU on June 18, 2021.

The conference was held in a mixed mode — offline and online broadcasts; the purpose of the event was to improve theoretical and practical skills, as well as to improve the training processes of traumatologists and orthopedists.

Organizers of the conference: Dagestan State Medical University; Ministry of Health of the Republic of Dagestan; Russian National Research Medical University named after N. I. Pirogov; Association of Traumatologists and Orthopedists of Russia; Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics and MFS of N. I. Pirogov RNRMU; Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics and MFS of DSMU; Republican Orthopedic and Traumatological Center named after N. Ts Tsakhaev.

Acting Vice-Rector for Clinical Care  Magomed Khamidov addressed the audience with a welcoming speech on behalf of the university administration. He noted that the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of our university always takes an active part in important conferences, and the department itself is the organizer of worthy events. He expressed gratitude to the guests-colleagues who came to take part in the conference and share their knowledge and skills. Khamidov wished the conference a successful work.

On behalf of the Minister of Health of the RD Tatyana Belyaeva, the conference was welcomed by the First Deputy Minister Raisa Shakhsinova. First of all, she congratulated her colleagues on the Health Worker Day, which will be celebrated on June 20, and wished everyone good health.

“It is gratifying that we have come together again. Despite the unstable situation with the pandemic, the best traditions of the Dagestan State Medical University are preserved and will live on. Medical workers in 2020 proved to be the heroes of the time. We all understood how important medicine is, how it is necessary to pay attention to the development of health care, increase knowledge for better provision of medical care to the population. This conference is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Ilizarov, a scientist who began his professional career in the Republic of Dagestan. All his scientific developments were widely applied not only in Russia, but also at the international level. He is recognized as a world-class specialist. Its treatment methods are used in all countries of the world,” Shakhsinova said. She also thanked all the guests who came to the conference and those who participate remotely.

Further on, everyone was welcomed by Irina Chulovskaya — Professor of Traumatology, Orthopedics and MFS of the Russian National Research Medical University named after N. I. Pirogov: «The presence of our department at such conferences has become a good tradition. Any communication between us is very important: it is an exchange of experience, and an opportunity to talk about your achievements, discuss current professional problems, talk about new methods and techniques in medicine. And most importantly, the exchange of experience between us is crucial», — Chulovskaya said.
