On 30 May, Kazan State Medical University hosted a psychiatric discussion forum ‘PATIENT CASES: FROM PRACTICE TO THEORY’. The conference was attended by leading scientists — neurologists of the Russian Federation. Dagestan State Medical University was represented at the forum by Naida Mollaeva, Vice-Rector for Science, Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Medical Psychology and Addiction Medicine.

The main directions of the forum were devoted to a wide range of problems: diagnostic difficulties in the transition to ICD-11; new diagnoses in psychiatric classifications; medical, psychological, social and philosophical psychiatric diagnoses; the role of society in the formation of ideas about mental and behavioural norms; psychopharmacotherapy under the realities of ICD-11; effective and evidence-based psychopharmacotherapy of mental disorders, the problem of compliance; modern approaches to psychotherapy of mental disorders.

Naida Mollaeva spoke on ‘Ticose disorders: disorders of development of the nervous system, schizophrenia, catatonia or OCDS — what lies behind the phenomenological overlap?’.
